The INDIGO Foundation is proud to present its 2024 annual report, which illustrates and highlights a year of commitments to more inclusive, more pleasant and more sustainable cities. Drawing on the local roots and solidarity of the INDIGO Group, its founder, and the involvement of its employees, the INDIGO Foundation has been working throughout the year to serve the regions and their inhabitants.

In its second year of activity, the INDIGO Foundation has been extremely dynamic, supporting 29 initiatives in 19 towns and 7 countries, which help to improve the quality of life of local residents and strengthen local solidarity through sport and culture.

In this way, the INDIGO Foundation continues to demonstrate the relevance of its mission: to reach out to all the city’s residents in all their diversity. The initiatives supported have benefited more than 200,000 people, including schoolchildren, young people from local neighbourhoods, families, women, people with disabilities and people in difficulty. The high quality of the projects carried out in 2024, their tangible impact and the very positive feedback we have received from employees, beneficiaries and associations encourage us to continue in this direction, alongside local players and associations.

The INDIGO Group’s employees are at the origin of the projects supported, which they propose and then follow up in the field once they have been approved by the Executive Committee. This internal support guarantees a strong local dynamic and close monitoring of the impact on beneficiaries.

By promoting access to sport and culture, the INDIGO Foundation is helping to fight social exclusion in cities, strengthen local solidarity and enhance local heritage and identity.

The INDIGO Foundation would like to warmly thank all the project sponsors for their collaboration and the work they have done with their various target groups, as well as for their contribution to the INDIGO Foundation’s excellent results in 2024.

INDIGO, a major player in global parking, unveils its new brand signature, embodying its dynamic vision of urban mobility.

A global leader in motion

Present in 9 countries (in Europe and the Americas) and in over 500 cities worldwide, INDIGO manages nearly 2,600 parking facilities and 2,250 kilometers of on-street parking. In France alone, it oversees 690 parking facilities and 1,000 kilometers of on-street parking in 195 cities, spread across the entire national territory.
As both a sector leader and a local actor, we facilitate the ecological transition of cities by offering services for smoother and more sustainable mobility. We support a wide variety of clients for whom parking and mobility are major concerns: municipalities, hospitals, train stations, shopping centers, tourism and leisure sites, airports, and businesses.

A signature in line with INDIGO’s new vision

This signature, in complete alignment with INDIGO’s strategic plan, embodies our desire to anticipate and respond to evolving mobility needs (management of flows in parking structures and on the streets, support for the development of soft and decarbonized mobility, transformation of structures to meet new uses, etc.). By placing parking as a fundamental pillar of mobility, INDIGO forcefully asserts its central role in reconciling the challenges faced by cities that want to be both more dynamic and more pleasant to live in.

A new positioning embodied in a “Vision Film”

Today, this new positioning is materialized in a “vision film.” A film constructed as an ode to parking spaces, illustrating how parking becomes the focal point of mobility, positively influencing urban life.

Since May 21, 2021, the car Parking Centre-Flon in Lausanne Switzerland is hosting small electric transport vehicle. This unique project, developed in collaboration with the city of Lausanne, promote sustainable logistics transportation.

The SMARGO service allows people to rent electric utility vehicles by the hour, to transport goods and avoid CO2 emissions!

The offer is for both professionals and private individuals, to make deliveries, waste disposal, supplies, event logistics or the transport of large goods.

Three types of vehicles are available:

  • an electrically-assisted cargo bike capable of carrying up to 200 kg of cargo;
  • three-wheeled electric scooter that can carry up to 130 kg of goods at 30 km/h;
  • Finally, the Goupil, a compact four-wheeled vehicle that can carry a load of more than one ton and travel at 45 km/h.

The results are  positive, with an average duration of use of 5 hours per vehicle and a number of users that doubled between September and October 2021.

Thanks to the strategic location of its parking lots in the heart of the city and its strategy to offer always more services to city, INDIGO is continuing to develop this type of partnership by opening its spaces for the logistics, storage and individual mobility sectors.

As part of its reflection on its new positioning, the INDIGO Group carried out a European survey in December 2020 and January 2021 on the use of car parks and its evolution in terms of sustainable development. Conducted in partnership with the students of EM Lyon, this survey highlights the importance of integrating this theme into our offers and services.

The study includes almost 1500 respondents from France, Spain, Belgium, Luxembourg and Poland. More than 73% of them consider it is very important that the evolution of our car parks and their services are in line with Sustainable Development. The key themes for making car parks part of a more sustainable world are the environment and the quality of life in the city. Among the environmental and societal challenges on which INDIGO has a role to play in the future, the improvement of the quality of life in cities (electric recharging stations, soft mobility…) is the best rated. According to the respondents, the offers of parking and services dedicated to mobilities to be developed are those related to electric, hybrid and hydrogen cars as well as bicycles and electric bicycles.

Download the results in PDF format

INDIGO takes these results into account and reinforces its strategy by investing in different themes such as the deployment of electric recharging stations, secure bicycle parking and the development of its soft mobility services.

In order to better meet the needs of cities and their inhabitants, INDIGO diversifies the uses of its car parks and makes its vision of the “Car Park of the Future” a reality. Its objective is to contribute to the fluidity of urban mobility, to limit pollution and to have a positive impact on the economic activity of the city. INDIGO is developing strategic partnerships with key players in last-mile logistics, including Rexel, a global expert in the distribution of electrical equipment, for the installation of delivery lockers in its car parks. This type of installation contributes to the networking of Rexel’s collection points and reduces the number of trips made by both delivery drivers and buyers.

Since October 2020, a new delivery point has been available for Rexel customers ordering electrical equipment: the Place Victor Hugo car park in Paris. A Rexel Box has been installed there, with a delivery and customer path equipped and secured.

The concept is simple: customers order their equipment online or by phone and choose this delivery point. Their products are delivered the next day at 6 a.m., then they can pick them up 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by going to the car park, via a system that allows them to pay the cost of access.

Eight other delivery points are scheduled to open by the end of the first half of 2021 in Paris and the suburbs (Neuilly-sur-Seine and Bagnolet).

“This new innovative system completes our range of services and intensifies our network in the Ile-de-France region. It saves our customers time and ensures that their products are available as close as possible to their worksites and in the shortest possible time. »

Julien Neuschwander, Vice-President Innovation and Services Rexel France

“The collection racks are supplied by delivery drivers on bicycles, cargo bikes or CNG vans, depending on the volume ordered. This project responds to current environmental issues by reducing our carbon footprint and the carbon footprint of our customers.”

Benoît Ribault, Project Manager Rexel France

“Located in the heart of the city with spaces suitable for storage and traffic flows, the location and configuration of INDIGO car parks are key assets in the development of new urban logistics services. Our partnership with Rexel is a concrete illustration of the possible implementations, in line with our societal and environmental objectives. INDIGO has been engaged for several years in an active strategy to develop this type of service.”

Sébastien Fraisse, Managing Director, INDIGO France

Indigo Belgium opened its first bicycle parking ever in the heart of Antwerp, underneath Tenierplaats. The parking is part of a bigger project, the reconstruction of the Opera square which has become a mobility hub that contains a metro station and a car park of 334 spots, Parking Opera, also runned by INDIGO Belgium.

There is room for 297 bicycles, 69 of which are for local subscribers. The location of the bicycle parking is very important because of the mobility hub close to the biggest shopping street of Antwerp, De Meir. The Mobility Council is making this new car park available so that the inhabitants of Antwerp and its surroundings can easily park their bikes for their trips in the city.
In the bicycle parking there are lockers and also chargers who are free of charge for electric bicycles. The public parking is free of charge the first 24 hours. Afterwards they pay 1 euro / day. Local residents pay

5.60 euros for a monthly subscription for a normal bicycle and 11.20 euros per month for a cargo bike.
The local residents are very satisfied with this parking, a pharmacy owner says:
“My employees will certainly use it, and I think many people who work in the area too. More and more people come by bicycle, and it is good news that they can now store their bicycle safely. The opening is also a bonus for people how like to shop.”
This is the first bicycle parking for Indigo Belgium but it will not be the last. Probably all 11 car parks in Antwerp get a bicycle parking in 2021.

INDIGO Brasil takes over operation, which will improve the experience of visitors by modernizing the car park management.

In Brazil, INDIGO takes over the operation for a period of 20 years of a 1,200 parking spaces in Ibirapuera Park, one of the largest green spaces in Latin America receiving more than 14 million visitors per year, located in the city of São Paulo.

INDIGO will invest to improve the reception of motorists by modernizing the car park (access, automatic gates, security system, services) while lowering rates, thus improving the customer experience.
The changes can be seen in the next few days, with the implementation of automated barriers, signage and painting. The car park will also have a modern security system, with cameras connected to ConnecPark, Indigo’s Group technology, considered the largest remote car park monitoring center in Brazil, with evaluation of images 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In total, more than R$ 1 million will be invested in improvements and modernization of Ibirapuera car park. In addition, users will rely on the guidance of specialized professionals for on-site care or through the Relationship Center if they need.

For Thiago Piovesan, INDIGO’s Brazil Executive Director, it is necessary to manage the car park as a mobility hub, connecting the city and people to the park, with a service of excellence:
Our performance in the administration of car park in The Ibirapuera Park will be an important contribution to the positive experience of the visitors. The INDIGO Group has been working for more than 50 years in the management of car parks and individual mobility in several cities around the world. Our intention in this project, in partnership with Urbia, the company responsible for the management of the park, will improve the flow in space, modernize the structure and offer a safe and quality service.
The new management of the car park is a partnership between the INDIGO Group and Urbia Parks Management, the company responsible for the management of the Ibirapuera Park.

Samuel Lloyd, Urbia’s Commercial Director, explains that the novelty aims to improve the offer of services to park visitors:
The parking will bring more security and convenience to visitors. We could not be more pleased to choose INDIGO, one of the most modern car parks companies, for this task. We are convinced that the use of technologies will ensure greater organization for this space.
